Setting a target

Setting a target.
What weigh did I want to be ?
How much should I lose ?

This was the most difficult question for me to answer.
Using BMI proved pointless - 11 stone was the suggestion, ummm the last time I was 11 stone I was 11 years old !!! BMI doesn't take in to account muscle mass or bone density. A new approach was required.
Body Fat ! what was my body fat ? 34% - a healthy maximum is 20-25...%. I now had my target 14 stone would put me on the edge of the upper limit, but at least gave me a starting point.

Diet alone wasn't going to cut it so I had to decide on a activity to help. Due to a damaged knee, running was out, I had a mountain bike and used to ride BMX so cycling it was. Low impact on the joints.
