Halfords own make MTB Pedals

After getting the bike i soon discovered the pedal that come with bikes are very much trial pedals rather than something you want to ride.

I quickly decided that new pedals were the order of the day and went on the look out for a different pair. During a shopping trip i called into Halfords and had a look through their range an came across a little box tucked away at the back, i opened the pedals to be confronted by a large flat platform pedal, just what i was looking for.
Thankfully mine are missing the Bikehut Graphics and have different fittings to the pictures shown on the Halfords website.

£29.99 lighter i set off home and fitted the pedals straight away, Fitting was simple and the pedals are tightened by an allan key in the shaft so no large spanner flat which keeps the pedals tight to the cranks.
A test ride revealed a that the large platform wasn't just for show and they offered large amounts of grip with lots of foot support.
That was 3 months ago and as the pictures show they are still standing up to the abuse of off road use,
the grip levels are still really good, probably helped by riding in Vans. The little pins fit perfectly in the waffle sole.
With winter approaching i will test winter grip levels but with the grub screws being a standard 4mm thread i may fit longer pins if the grip drops off.

I would Highly recomend these pedals for all fans of flats, at the price i think they offer a tremendous level of grip and control, the only down side is with the weight being 450g for the pair, there are lighter pedals out there but in my opinion they just don't look as good.
